So the other day we decided to go check out an island called mustasaari, which means black island. It is a small island right off of Helsinki that we were told had free range sheep and awesome pastries. (Not sure if those two mix. lol) So with 4 kids in tow we took a bus then another bus and walked to a hidden boat dock that contained a boat that would take us to this magical island. I have to say when the ferry pulled up I was nervous if there was going to be enough room for all the people waiting but like a mini clown car it amazingly fit everyone.
We were lucky enough to get a window seat and a view of the wake. Wahoo!
Found the pastries.
Alex don't look now, but there is a sheep behind you.
Serenity and Ezra were so excited to see the sheep. I am not so sure if the sheep were so excited to see them. haha.
Serenity decided this one was a girl because of her cute hairdo and earrings.
As I was busy taking pictures of the kids, this little ninja sheep snuck up behind me and scared the crap out of me.
As we were heading out the sheep tried to make a prison break. I am sure the kids would have been happy to bring them home, but I don't need anymore little rug rats running around.
We only stayed for a short while, but it was a nice get away and I would recommend this little island for families wanting something fun and cheap to do in Helsinki. The boat ride was 4 euro for adults and free for children. Oh and don't forget about the geese, never forget about the geese. lol.
